How can you limit it to just five??? :D

The new record is pretty good, btw. It's different, for sure...but really growing on me!

im seeing them in chicago this october... pretty excited, though it's my least anticipated of fall concerts (arctic monkeys, editors, hanson).

in no particular order, standouts for me are

    streets of fire
    bleeding heart show
    mass romantic
    my slow descent into alcoholism
    out from blown speakers

i really dont care for the new song though. it's kinda boring and goes nowhere and simultaneously sounds like any song off the last album only with half the excitement. i hope the album is better.

Holy crap, if Neko is touring with them, then count me in! Don't get me wrong, they were still fantastic in Calgary last year without her, but it's not the same without those glorious pipes of hers. I fuckin' love this band.

My favorite 5 in no particular order:

    The Bleeding Heart Show
    These Are the Fables
    Mass Romantic
    The Slow Descent into Alcoholism
    Use It
"I try my best to chug, stomp, weep, whisper, moan, wheeze, scat, blurt, rage, whine, and seduce. With my voice I can sound like a girl, the boogieman, a Theremin, a cherry bomb, a clown, a doctor, a murderer. I can be tribal. Ironic. Or disturbed. My voice is really my instrument."

    Bones Of An Idol
    Use It
    The Bleeding Heart Show
    Mass Romantic

    are the best songs.

Wait...you're anticipating hanson more than the new pornographers?????

    That is just wrong!

Their shows are fun. :) And even if you never get into the new record, they will surely play a lot of older stuff. I am starting to get into it, but it just doesn't grab me the way that twin cinema and electric version do.

i never really got into electric version either. it seemed just like a slicker mass romantic and the latter had better songs.

and yeah, that was kinda stretching it. but i am actually looking forward to their show. their new album isn't half bad.

    I love Hanson.

Twin Cinema was a nearly perfect album. It obviously would be hard to top. But, I don't think they made a new album to compete with the older ones. Just take each one for what you like of it.

Challengers is an amazing song. Neko nails it. Just Sayin'.

  • I'll have to complete the list later, but for now I can say that hands down my number one is...

    The Laws Have Changed

I didn't fall in love with the new album the first time I heard it, especially after Twin Cinema, but I plan on listening to it more.

If I can only name 5:

    Use It
    The End of Medicine
    Star Bodies
    Sing Me Spanish Techno
    The Slow Descent into Alcoholism

I don't want to overhype it or anything... but I'm absolutely certain Challengers will be the best record released this year, which is saying a lot.
    Which came first,
the bad idea or me befallen by it?
