Please tell me about Damien Rice. I'm going to see Damien Rice and Fiona Apple in July and know nothing of Damien Rice. Thanks

And very well done w/ the Arcade Fire nod tmud - they don't seem to get too much love on here in threads about other music/bands.

Wow. You must not have been around when Funeral was relatively new. There had to have been dozens of threads on the Arcade Fire, all very positive. Funeral, as I recall, also finished very high on our "Best of the Year" list that year. I'd add them to my favorites list on this thread, but I need another quality album from them first. As is, they put on one of the best live shows I have ever seen. I would go again and again.

Aside from the obvious Pearl Jam, I would say Bad Religion is a definite all time favorite. Face to Face is another one, but they broke up, which saddens me.

Besides Pearl Jam, in no particular order (and there's no way to just keep it to five or ten, sorry):

    The Classics:

    The Boss
    The Doors
    The Stones
    The Beatles
    The Kinks
    Zep
    Neil Young

    Newer:

    Soundgarden/Audioslave/RATM
    Beck
    Radiohead
    Spoon
    At the Drive-In
    The Flaming Lips
    Nirvana
    Floater
    Muse
    REM
    RHCP

And last, and least, those I don't really get, though everybody else seems to:

    Metallica
    Tool
    U2
    Coldplay

I would have to add RHCP ,The White Stripes and Iron Maiden to your bottm four selection
