am i the only around here who listens to Seven Mary Three? Everyone probably remembers their first album, but i'm telling you, they still make some dang good tunes. Actually the tunes the make now are better than their early stuff. If you ever come across their last album Dislocation, its worth a listen.

  • check out this promo clip from their last album. i think Jason Ross has one of the most underrated rock voices and his lyrics are great.

biggest derivative pile of radio rock shite to come out of the 90s :)

  • I did have a curiosity for 7m3, but that's because the sound reminded me of PJ. I did the same with Creed. Have never purchased thier cd's, I have a hard time listening to copycats or soundalikes.

yeah i always thought that too about their early sound. but for some reason 7m3 has always stuck with me. Mostly their 2nd album Rock Crown. Its got some great mellow songs.

I like the dude's voice, but they overall remind me too much of PJ. Way too close of a clone, with just simpler lyrics that are kinda cheesy. The other day I heard the "rodrigo" song; the music is so similar to PJ. I just rolled my eyes and put in some of the real deal.

Personally, I thought they were cheap PJ ripoffs. I'd put them at the same level as Creed or Nickelback. But hey, if it makes you feel better I still think Candlebox was a great band.

i heard one of their songs today on the radio.
he sounds so much like Eddie (circa '91-'96)

I don't get why everybody knocks 7M3. They are a great live band. I've seen them twice and it was awesome both times. Jason Ross is a great singer and songwriter. Give them a chance. American Standard was a great record and one of my favorites.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

  • i love them. i saw them live once, as an opening act. they were awesome, despite their short set. that said, all of their albums are really great and very different from each other. i dont' think any two of them sound the same. "rock crown" is one of my favorite albums out of the 600+ that i own, probably top 10. orange ave. is a great one that took a while to grow on me... fuck they are all good. i love them.

anyone know if they have any new releases planned any time soon? i could go for some new 7m3. i should probably buy american standard... i have actually never owned a real copy of that one, but i do own all the others. weird.

Finally I have some agreement! I'm with you on Rock Crown. It's probably in my top 10 albums that i own. They are currently working on some new stuff and should have an new album out sometime shortly. Their last album Dislocation was pretty good.

I don't get why a lot of bands are knocked on here and why some bands continually get praised so much. But that's another thread entirely...

I've never seen them live and don't have any of their albums, but I've heard a few of their songs. I didn't think they were bad and quite liked Cumbersome myself. From the few songs I have heard they seem to be a pretty solid rock band.
