Neil Young

Recently been listening to a LOT of Neil Young, almost without interruption.

It also has made me wonder if Neil Young was such a huge influence on Eddie and the band, how come Pearl Jam doesn't use more harmonica and piano in their songs? I would imagine Eddie is as much a fan of songs like After The Gold Rush as he is a fan of Cinnamon Girl.

Secondly, what's everyone's favourite Neil Young album? I can't pick, but I've been listening to After The Gold Rush (album) quite a bit. The "anti-flow" of it is so good.

  • These are among his best IMO:

    EVERBODY KNOWS
    HARVEST
    TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT
    ON THE BEACH
    ZUMA
    RUST NEVER SLEEPS
    TRANS
    FREEDOM
    RAGGED GLORY
    HARVEST MOON

And you can't go wrong with any live release ESPECIALLY the 70 and 71 shows released from the archive.

Rust Never Sleep & Tonight's The Night for me.
Love the live album Weld too, that's just incredible.
Plus you can do a lot worse than Ragged Glory, very under-rated in my opinion.

I love most of what I've heard of Neil. Don't own all of them, but I really love the soft touch on Sleeps With Angels, and Chrome Dreams II is amazing!

Isn't Human Highway generally regarded as the worst film of all time?
