...Stones, Pumpkins and of course Pearl Jam,
What else do you recommend. I'm looking for something new to listen to.
I do listen to other stuff other than what is listed above, but that's a brief synopsis.
Any thoughts?

haha did you just find that album? I grew up with that album... as did most people up here.. check out Scenery & Fish aswell.. they were amazing when they had Edwin.. and hey while were on classic Canadian bands.. if you haven't checked out The Tragically Hip yet.. i'd suggest picking up their new 2CD greatest hits (Yer Favourites)..

I've had Scenery & Fish for about 7 months now, and Dig a little longer... so I haven't just gotten into them, but relatively speaking I am new to their stuff (I was about five years old when Dig came out, so...). Both are fantastic albums. I've heard very little I Mother Earth stuff post-Edwin.

I was pretty much obsessed with Dig for the first month or so I had it. I kind of burned out on it, but I would recommend it to anyone. Obviously they're not very popular in America anymore.

Nor are they here.. the Blue Green Orange and Quiksilver meat dream albums were pretty cool.... the last meat dreams album actually had a bit of a tool influence in the music.. when scenery and fish came out though them and our lady peace were massively huge here and just about to break in the states.. then out of nowhere Edwin left IME and OLP started getting bigger in the states.. the shitty thing is OLP started making really terrible albums (imo).. and that is what ended up selling huge in the US.. nonetheless The Hip and IME were both phenomenal live in their hayday and im glad i got to check em out!

Thanks for all the feedback everyone... Lots of stuff I've never heard of.
I guess I should have mentioned that I also love Radiohead and the Pixies.
Also I'm a Canadian, so I definitely know the Hip and I think Scenery and Fish is one of the discs in my CD player right now.
    The suggestions are great.
Listened to new Kings of Leon... can't really get into it. I'm still on the fence about Arctic Monkeys.
Awesome suggestions everybody, I have lots of stuff to check out.
  • His music is nothing like those posted above but I really love Sufjan Stevens' music.

No album is alike and its just very very good, IMO.
  • High Rise

    Japanese acid punk. Marvelous :)

If you dig raw, in your face, blues based rock, check out Grady. http://www.shadygrady.net has three tunes you can stream from their most recent album Cup of Cold Poison, as well as downloads of two tracks from their first disc Y. U. So Shady. Spadinia and Hammer In My Hand both rock.
