got the new album today hoping something good and new.....big let down

2 good songs after first listen, Chasing cars and Make this go on forever.

I hope it gets better, but I am finding the stuff pretty boring musically speaking.

    Eyes Open was probably the most dissapointing record of last year.

    After the magnificently dark pop of Final Straw, I was expecting something pretty amazing but it's nothing more than a stadium pop record.....overproduced and the songs are lazily written. Gary Lightbody seems to be doing some feeble impression of Bono now.

    If they made this album with the expressed intent of becoming a stadium act, they've achieved their goal......it's just not a great record :(
