Alice In Chains W/ Velvet Revolver Tour!

So I'm looking through the entertainment section today in the Star Ledger (a New Jersey newspaper) and they had a section about upcoming concerts at the PNC Banks Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ and I spotted Alice in Chains with Velvet Revolver coming to the venue on August 17th! According to the paper, tickets go on sale this Saturday at noon on LiveNation.com, though I couldn't find any information about the show/tour on the site, VR site or AIC site, but I researched that the bands had recently announced the date and tour on a radio interview earlier on in the week. Anyways, great news. Happy cinco do mayo!

    honestly, i have not heard one song of Alice without Layne. Is his replacement good? Is it the same thing, or is there an obvious void there?

    No, which is why I can stand it.

    The singer's great, and Jerry went out of his way to find someone who didn't emulate Layne. There's a void of course, because of Layne not being there, but they're still a great band.

    Something else cool Jerry's doing: I've heard that if they write new songs and release an album it will not be under the name 'alice in chains'. Respect. :cool:
