describe a nine inch nails concert.

    Insane and well worth it.
  • First time I saw them was on The Downward Spiral tour, completely insane show. The most intense show I've seen, very little between song banter, just trent running around smashing instruments, hitting his band, calling the crowd fuckers alot, and mayhem in the pit. Shorter than a PJ concert, and the only sort of encore at that show was after Trent had destroyed all the instruments a bunch of roadies came out and cleaned up the stage while the drummer at the time, (Chris something), played a crazy solo that eventually lead to Reptillian. Amazing show. Last time I saw them was this year at the acc, pretty silimar with more focus on the stage theatrics, and less anger.

I'm going to see them in Portland, ME near the end of the month.
  • They're/he's outstanding as a performer.
Sets are usually fairly short, but impressive nonetheless.

I was in the pit and I thought I was going to have a stroke. The energy is through the roof, brutal, and unrelenting. The quieter songs are haunting and beautiful. A unique experience that is well worth the money.

Short compared to PJ, but I saw them at MSG in November and they played 20+ tunes. Granted there's no inbetween banter, no it does make for a brisk show, but again, well worth it. Very cathartic, good way to get some rage out. I'm seeing them next weekend at Jones Beach. First time I'll be seeing them perform somewhere other than an arena, and no mosh pit. Should be very interesting.

There is no encore to speak of. Trent doesn't believe in them. They just play about 1 hour and 40 minutes straight through without any artificial pauses or breaks.

I'm going to see them tomorrow!

    4th row center. :):)

    I can't fucking wait...

My g/f is going with me tho... and she's only 5'3"... I'm mildly worried...

but I'm also taking her to the PJ show in Holland with 10c tix in the pit, so maybe this will prepare her. :)

I wouldn't worry that much, although the crowd can get rough they are mostly respectful. My friend was pretty small too and she had no problems.

'tis good news... last real pit I was in was for Primus, and it was the best pit EVER. Noone was on the ground more than, like, 2 seconds. Hope the NIN fans don't disappoint. I'm sure they won't... they're all probably as old or older than me now anyway. :)

Yeah, NIN's been around since '89 so the crowd is getting old.

    saw them at sasquatch

    very intense
    very tight preformance
awesome light show to go with the songs

Trent told us locals to never take the Gorge for granted because it is one of the most beautiful places he's ever played

that's not true. Everyone's fairly young. You get all types of people there...from 10 year olds (I'm not kidding) to a 50 something woman that I had to help out of the pit. Shit's insane man and well worth it.
