i started at the start but you might want to do it in reverse. i think the 2nd album Aha Shake Heartbreak is their best.. :)
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
  • Check out: Fans, Black Thumbnail, Camaro, King of the rodeo, Taper jean girl, The Bucket, Slow night So Long, California waiting, Red morning light, Molly's chambers - they have loads of cool songs, but these should get you off to a good start.

    I feel the opposite.
In any case, I think BOT is easier to get into, so I would start there :)

I think Because of the Times is my favourite, then Youth and Youngmanhood and then Aha Shake Heartbreak, but i love them all. To be honest i can never remember the names of songs, but id heard enough to buy the first album ages ago and loved them since.
People say im paranoid. Well, they dont say it, but i know that's what they are thinking.

Arizona was a musical milestone for them with me: it was the first time that I could ever call a KOL song "beautiful". Actually I call it "fucking beautiful". That weeping guitar is just...fucking beautiful.

With KOL I think that you could start anywhere in with their 3 albums and you'd be fine. As far as accessibility, Because of The Times is their easiest on the ears (translation: their most polished, mature and refined work to date...yet it still rocks).

Want it a little more dirty south, horny and whiskey soaked...Youth & Young Manhood, then Aha Shake Heartbreak.

I refuse to recommend you songs; take an artist's work as a complete body of work, album by album. Then you really know and appreciate the music. Like Pearl Jam, KOL's body of music is worth knowing whole.

I was hooked on that song as soon as i heard the rythm guitar part the first time through.

  • If their live set on MSN is still available for download, I'd start there. A good selection of songs.
