Jimmy Page is one of my all time favorites - I started playing guitar because of Zeppelin, but since he hasn't done anything new in decades, I'm not gonna include him in my top 3. So the list is:

    Frusciante
    Mascis
    Omar Rodriguez-Lopez

    Honorable mentions:

    David Gilmour
Carlos Santana (for his classic stuff)
Eric Clapton (again for his old stuff)
    Neil Young
Dave Navarro (Jane's was huge influence on me)
    Morello
    Ben Harper
    Mike McCready

  • Jimmy Page. Best living guitarist in the world. Saw Page&Plant recently and Jim was on absolute top form.

Neil Young. Fruciante and the rest of the current noisy set wouldn't exist without his messy, metallic notes. A great folkguitarist too.

    Mike McCready. Cuz, y'know?

Mike McCready cause, well,. he's the guitarist of my absolute fav. band and everytime he does one of his soloes he takes the music to a whole other level and really makes the emotion in the song sooo much stronger.

Geir Zahl mostly because of his riffs and his attitude on stage. It fits so well with the whole "Kaizers-universe" and the music, besides he's one of the coolest guitarists out there, even though there's tons of guitarists out there who's much better when it comes to technique.

Pete Townshend cause he's Pete Townshend!!

And yes, my knowledge of guitar playing is really low. So I can't really name anyone who's technically "the best". Those are just my faves who I think is most fun to watch and catches that feeling inside me.
