Led Zeppelin 1

Led Zepp have great lyrics on their catalog, but chekin' the lyrics of their first album i think it have the weakest lyrics of all, i love the way Plant handle the relationship themes, but the center theme on this album is just one: GIRLS......

the lyrics may be okay, but you are not saying the album sucks? it ROCKS.
You Shook Me allwwalllwwwalllwww night loooooonnnnnnnnnnnnng! (solo) bass line intro to Dazed... what a great album!
Searching for meaningful lyrics? listen to Dylan or someone.
I've only recently started to appreciate Zep 1. Its a bit rough around the edges and covers-heavy, but it really sets the blueprint for the later stuff. How Many More Times is pure genius - Zep may have borrowed a few lyrics here and there, but they really made the cover versions their own!
bump. god i hate those lyrics....
"Mine's a tale that can't be told, my freedom I hold dear.
How years ago in days of old, when magic filled the air.
T'was in the darkest depths of Mordor, I met a girl so fair.
But Gollum, and the evil one crept up and slipped away with her, her, her....yeah"
love the songs but fuck me i hate some of the lyrics on LZ II, and LZ one is a phenomenal debut record. probably the best debut ive ever heard along with The Doors..
Also: note that Plant wasn't credited as a songwriter on LZ1.
Sha la la la i'm in love with a jersey girl
I love you forever and forever

to be honest, led zep has never stirred my heart of poetry and prose (except for few a songs like “since I’ve been loving you”), but to my mind they rocked so hard, they could've been singing about primary school and kissing touches for all i care.
"Call me Ishmael. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world." Herman Melville : Moby Dick
