my perfect concert couldn't happen because 3 of the bands are not around anymore.....but anyways it would have been Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains (with Layne and not the new guy), and Mudhoney

for bands still together: Pearl Jam, Mudhoney, Audioslave, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Sonic Youth

    Vote for Change 2008
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band
    Neil Young and Crazy Horse
    REM
    Pearl Jam
    Steve Earle & The Dukes

Lots of interplay between all the different artists, I might sit down and write a setlist later, should be mostly a swing-state tour starting with a special show at Safeco Field playing stadiums in the midwest and south and ending at Giants stadium. Unlike last time where the bands were mostly broken up, the artists will combine for huge festival style stadium shows so each band can play a longer set. The other group will be Dave Matthews, John Mellencamp, The Dixie Chicks, James Taylor and Bonnie Raitt so that I will not have to watch any of thier sets, many people will fall asleep at these shows.

I'm actually gonna do a setlist here, I'll skip steve earle's set since most people don't know his music....

    10/02/2008 Safeco Field, Seattle, WA
Show starts with Neil, Micheal, Ed, Bruce and Steve on stage, they do a speech about why they chose to do this show.

Steve's band starts playing and they all sing "people get ready"
    Steve Earle set
I aint ever satisfied w/ Bruce Springsteen
Sweet Virginia w/ Mike Mccready (fellow stones fan)
Time has come today w/ Ed and Mike

Rep. Jim Mcdermott does a short speech and introduces PJ
In the time between 06 and then they have released a compilation of the songs left off the avacado and have a new album recorded that will be released sometime in 2009.
Set: They open with worldwide suicide, do a couple radio hits, several cuts from the avacado, a couple tunes of the leftover avacado, and one new song with political overtones.
Ed: Now, uh, we've always enjoyed having you sing this one, but, uh, theres some friends of ours who wanted to sing along too, do us a favor and welcome Mr. Bruce Springsteen and Micheal Stipe to the stage!
Betterman w/ Bruce Springsteen and Micheal Stipe
Gone w/ Bruce Springsteen (ed explains he wrote it while practicing "no surrender" in NJ.)
Alive (Ed climbs the lighting rig and waves to people in the bleachers)
Ed: During the last vote for change tour, Jeff brought out all these old punk songs that seemed really fitting for the times. Uh, heres one we didn't play then, but will now. The guy that wrote it is here too, Mr. Henry Rollins!
    Rise Above w/ Henry Rollins
    Bleed for me
Act of love w/ Neil Young
Peace and Love w/ Neil Young
    Fuckin up w/ Neil Young
Cortez the killer w/ Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen
the band leaves the stage, Ed comes out and plays "I am a patriot" w/ Little Steven Van Zandt

    (speech by someone from ACT)
Ed introduces REM, sings Begin the Begin with them, they play stuff off of a new reccord, and "Bad Day" with Bruce Springsteen. "Country Feedback" with Neil Young
(speech by someone from Move On)
Micheal Stipe introduces Bruce Springsteen, Bruce released a new reccord in 2007 dealing with the Iraq war in the same manner The Rising dealt with 9/11
