I'm sorry, but Aerosmith opening in Ottawa with Helter Skelter was quite posisbly the coolest thing I've seen at a show, partly because I didn't know they did a version!

  • Come Together - Aerosmith

The original was always one of my least favorite Beatles song. But this version is amazing. Sounds like it was made to be an Aerosmith song.

so true...one of the few beatles covers i say elevates the material...imagine if the Beatles had done it this way
I've faced it, a life wasted, and I'm never going back again.

  • I'm probably going to get flamed bad for this, but Michael Jackson did a pretty cool version of Come Together.

Also, on the I Am Sam soundtrack, whoever it was that covered Nowhere Man did a good job of it.

I've always been fond of Sarah Mclaughlin's Blackbird cover.

I said it earlier in the thread but it deserves repeating. JEFF BECK - A DAY IN THE LIFE

it's an instrumental version from George Martin's album "In My Life" album. seek it out if you've never heard it.

    "Act Naturally" - The Beatles

Oh wait, that is a song The Beatles covered.

I will then have to go with:

"With a Little Help from My Friends" - Joe Cocker
  • Helter Skelter (don't know how you write it!): U2
    Live and let die: GNR
"Come on people now, smile on your brother and everybody get together, try to love one another right now!!!!"

U2 - Helter Skelter and most of the songs from the I am Sam soundtrack, especially:

Two of Us - Michael Penn and Amy Mann
    Blackbird - Sarah McLaghlan
Across the Universe - Rufus Wainwright
You've Got to Hide Your Love Away - Eddie
    Golden Slumbers - Ben Folds
    Nowhere Man - Paul Westerberg

I was so excited to hear a remake of "We Can Work it Out" by Heather Nova but I was quite disappointed. That seems like such an easy song to cover and make good.
  • across the universe - john butler

  • Soundgarden- Come Together
  • Soundgarden- Come Together
Definitely. I'm not a huge fan of Aerosmith's cover; they didn't change the song much at all.
