Also, as far as I know, Chuck D and KRS One have nothing to do with Rock...love em both, but jesus...read the freakin' post before you respond ;)

Sure they do........alot of rap has roots in rock music, listen to the samples both of those bands use (ex. Buffalo Springfield and AC DC)

  • Kim Thayil.....that man is deep.

I think he may have studied psycology in university. He also got himself a part time job working in a coffee shop when he was in Soundgarden. Ahh

Im curious, there are some pretty far fetched names on this list here....what are you all basing the term intellect on?

Watch his interview in 'Bowling For Columbine'... Quite the smart man.

P.S. I can't stand his music or the whole goth thing, but he's a smart guy.

I can't remember what he said now. I'm not sure I agree with you :) I used to think he was smart but now I just think, well everybody has opinions but some are in a better position to express them. I don't think it's clever to preach to people. :)

(At the time, though. I thought 'yeah! he's on Micheal Moore's side')!

Rather than being birthed like a normal child, Chuck Norris instead
decided to punch his way out of his mother's womb. Shortly thereafter
    he grew a beard.

    Greg Graffin
    Dexter Holland
    Jello Biafra
    Henry Rollins
    KRS-One
    Dexter Holland?
I never really would've thought of him. Not that I'd say he's dumb or anything, but I'd be interested to know what made you mention him.
Always liked the Offspring but never thought of him in an intellectual sense.

I can't stand the Offspring personally, but Holland was a Ph.D candidate in molecular biology but allegedly decided not to get his Ph.D in order to focus on the band. I think he was his class valedictorian in high school too.
Liberace was great on the piano but he sucked on the organ.
