Figured a new thread would be appropriate now that the shitty new Kings of Leon has dropped and they get so much love on this board. What are your top albums so far...seriously though a ton of great new stuff has come out lately and I'm curious to see what people think of it.

1.Med Sud I Eyrum Vid Spilum Endalaust - Sigur Ros
2. Dear Science - TV on the Radio
3. Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes
4. The Hawk is Howling - Mogwai

    1. TV on the Radio - Dear Science
    2. The Black Keys - Attack & Release
    3. Beck - Modern Guilt

With the Hold Steady, Raconteurs, Sigur Ros, and Gutter Twins all on about the same level as Black Keys and Beck.

The only one of those three I ranked that I have really been floored by is "Dear Science", the other two are among a handful of quality albums this year that make for a really good listen, but fall short of spectacular IMO.

I think it's been a good year for really good albums, but a bad year for knock-you-on-your-ass fantastic albums.

    In no particular order...

    Gutter Twins - Saturnalia/Adorata
DBT - Brighter Than Creation's Dark
    MMJ - Evil Urges
    Hold Steady - Stay Positive
Mark/Isobel - Sunday at Devil Dirt
KoL - Only By The Night
    Jeff Ament - Tone

Oooh - I'll throw in She & Him's album too, just cos Zooey Deschanel is involved.
Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.

Kings of Leon - Only By the Night
Liam Finn - I'll Be Lightning

And possibly Jeff's CD, but I've had it less than a week and haven't listened to it nearly enough to judge it (one thing I've learned from Three Fish and Pearl Jam is that Jeff's music doesn't always punch you in the gut, but often will be your favourite stuff later on ;)).

Kathleen Edwards - Asking for Flowers

This weekend I'll listen to Jenny Lewis' new one and we'll see if anything changes.
