As some know, new album drops next Friday.

Newbury Comics has signed copies of the new album on vinyl for sale.
  • Thank you. Just bought it for a friends birthday present

The new album leaked a week or two ago, Patterson even acknowledged it in a 3DD forum post. Like the last two records it is a nice mix of rockers, acoustic, and slow-burning songs. There isn't one on there I don't like. It is a short album coming in at 9 songs, just as I feel I am really getting into it, I realize I am on the last song. 12 songs would have been nice. Can't wait to see the Rock Show.

Excited to hear the album this weekend.  My CD preorder from Amazon is supposed to arrive on Friday.  I'm going to the Q&A/acoustic set on Saturday afternoon at Rough Trade in Brooklyn.  The options were ticket+CD or ticket+vinyl and I chose the latter.  I plan to bring a plastic bag because I don't want my signed vinyl to get rained or snowed on.  It says Drive-By Truckers at the site but I'm not sure if the whole band will be there or just Patterson & Cooley.

Evidently Patterson and Cooley both had an extended run of writers block going into this album. Thus the longest delay of a Truckers album in their history.

If my memory serves me right, This isn’t the first time Cooley has hit a wall with writing. I think around a Blessing & a Curse and the Big to Do/Go Go Boots run.

Anyways, I’ll cut the guy a break. No one can write a tune like Cooley.

I agree.  When he breaks through you know it'll be special.  Dude has written some of the best lines ever.

    Pure gold there.

Slow Ride Argument is great at a DBT show.  You will all love it.  I've heard that Grievance Merchants is terrific but haven't listened to it yet.  I'll hear it on the album this weekend and probably next month in Athens.

Agreed, Slow Ride Argument is a great live song. Grievance Merchants is a darker song, but still classic Cooley.

Great new album. It reminds me a lot of American Band, which is a good thing.

"Thoughts and Prayers" and "Babies in Cages" are probably my two favorites right now.

St Louis show on a weekend! Turns out that weekend is a no go. Now I have to talk my wife into going to Indy for a mid week show.

They are such a great show! They are my number two after PJ! They tour a bunch and living in Georgia it’s easy to see them a lot. You get a lot of show for your $40, plus they mix it up every night.

Get prepared with the It’s Great to Be Alive! album and enjoy the Rock Show!

  • Just found out a new book was published? Where the Devil Don’t Stay? With cooperation from the band as well. Put in an order with the publishing company I think. Everywhere else is back ordered.
