I saw them in Minneapolis back in May, front row in a small club. It was insane. I had a brief conversation with the bassist in between songs and got his pick at the end of the concert.
They have an INSANE amount of energy live. They were jumping off stuff and spinning around in circles all over the place. By the end of the concert the electric piano/organ thing was on top of the drum kit. Great fuckin show.

    Wolfmother Rocks!!!
  • They have some really great stuff, I like what I'm hearing. Some people say they're not original, but I think they just have good influences. I love their sound and look forward to more music from them.
  • Yeah i've been listening to their new Album on Napster, and i got to say i am actually pleasently surprised. I love their song "Woman"

I can't wait for them to come around in Ottawa to see them live

I think they sound like a bad Zeppelin cover band on that song. That's the only one I've heard, so I don't know what their other songs are like.

Never judge a group by its single. The whole album is great. They aren't the next pj or anything, but they certainly rock and are a welcome breath of fresh air from all the limp wristed emo crap floating around (death cab for cutie, I'm looking in your direction).

Check out Dimension, Mind's Eye, Joker anf the Thief, Love Train and Vagabond. All great rock and roll...and only three people!!!

They are Zeppelin-ish on most of their songs, however one song, can't remember the name, has a flute, ala Jethro Tull. I heard that and thought "o k a y the flute is making a comeback as a rocking instrument" .

I happen to enjoy Wolfmother, especially "Woman"....love the energy and the lyrics ...you know, as a woman. ;)

According to their website they opening the following dates for Pearl Jam:

    8/29 Arnhem, Netherlands
    8/30 Antwerp, Belgium
    9/1 Barcelona, Spain

I'd like to see those shows if it's true.

i've been listening to them for a couple of weeks now, really dig em. Woman...definitely sounds Led Zep in the vocals, but that beat is tough to knock.

i don't think they are incredibly original, but i don't really need that. as long as they rock, and put on a good show, i'm down for it.

Agree with most of the folks here. They are a blatant ripoff of Sabbath and Zeppelin, but, for some reason, it doesn't bother me. They do it pretty well, and I can't help but laugh listening to the album sometimes....

i havent heard the whole album yet but am very interested in picking it up. as for sounding like someone else, yes the single sounds familiar but its still pretty cool. musical styles come around and revisit us once in a while. i dont think thats a problem at all. if zep or sabbath were still 20-something then it might be annoying but they are long gone so i welcome the new blood.

They're awesome! Gotta try to get tix to the Virgin Festival in Baltimore. Wolfmother is playing but so are the WHO and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Good times.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

The whole album front to back is what you need to listen to. it kicks so much ass. i really enjoy The Joker & the Theif, and Mind's Eye. They also use an organ in some songs instead of a bass. oh man, its so amazing. i really hope this stuff takes over emo, im so sick of bands like Underoath, and Fall Out Boy.........gaahhh.
