Awesome band, awesome album, awesome song!!!!! Nuff said!

P.S.:Why did they release redneck as a single, it seems that it may be the worst song on the cd?!

all my buddies are metal heads so i get my fair share to listen to. I can't get into most of it except for a few bands like opeth, between the buried and me, and lamb of god. I wasn't a huge fan of the last L.O.G album, but this new one kicks ass. the dude screaming almost sounds like phil anslemo on some songs and the guitarist wrote some more complete songs instead of a bunch of cool riffs. Pretty cool album imo.

I would imagine that Redneck was the first released single because it has some radio playability to it (edited, of course). Rock stations (at least, any FM station) that play metal will easily be able to play this one.

On a personal note, I'm having a hard time getting into this one. Not that it's bad or boring or anything like that.....but I have a bunch of songs from the last album stuck in my head, and I can't seem to get them out. I also haven't had a "proper" opportunity to listen to Sacrament....by which I mean LOUD!!!!

  • I LOVE this band. So friggin heavy, imo. A great live band and can't wait to see them again. I recommend them to all.

  • oh geez...my friend likes them and a lot of others like them...which i dont understand cus they all sound the same. same riffs, same double bass overload in each song, and same screaming noise.
    Stone Gossard...riffmeister extraordinaire!

I am a man, I am advanced.....I am the first man to borrow Stone's leather pants!

Metal is like Jazz, you either get it or you don't. Fred Durst DOES NOT get it, Mikael Akerfeldt gets it.

well its not that i hate it or something, i actually do like some of the music but most of it seems static, unchanging. it would just be nice to hear something different.

of course i am only going off of the bands my friend plays, i havent exactly heard a whole lot.

Opeth, Dream Theater, Queensryche, Iron Maiden, Dragonforce, Yngwie Malmsteen, Mayhem(but if you are offended by overly satanic lyrics, only "Grand Declaration of War"),Emperor(same as Mayhem but milder, just buy "IX Equilibrium" and ignore the lyrics), Cradle of Filth(same as Mayhem, but "Midian" is very listenable, beware not real black metal though), Children of Bodom, Fear Factory, Meshuggah, Slayer, Megadeth, and people will tell you Metallica, but they are overrated so only buy "Master of Puppets".

    This should start you off.

Kill Em All? Ride the Lightning?
Do you remember Rock & Roll Radio?

Kill Em All is alright, and truth be told, I think that is not good for someone who is just getting into metal.

Under that criteria, I totally agree with you - Puppets is the way to go.

Kudos to you, man. Usually when folks who come here interested in metal ask for advice, people try to be all trendy and offer up nothing but death metal. Puppets is a great album to introduce someone to metal with.

Well, Death Metal has some pretty good stuff, I reccommended a couple DM bands and also some Black Metal, but I also offered stuff like Megadeth and Yngwie Malmsteen.
