I think their first album was decent, loved Out of Exile, and think Revelations is pretty solid. What do you guys think?

oh for the love of god... I know you are new here (welcome by the way :D) but this is about the 40th audioslave thread in the last week. The deal here is some like audioslave, a lot of people hate them and some, like me, are indifferent.

I should warn you, this thread could get nasty. I'm one of the those who is less bothered about multiple threads on the same topic.
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"
  • I like them.

Don't have a sissy fit! You could just choose to ignore it! :p I don't come into 'Other music' much, so I've not noticed any other AS threads.

Anyway, I had hoped for so much more when I heard Cornell and the guys from Rage were teaming up, then I got the early online demo's .. wasn't impressed, only a couple of songs gave me any hope, then i bought the album, and guess what? It was just as dull as those demos, all that really changed was the song titles!!

I did go on to buy the second album, it was boring too.

    Sadly, they're crap IMO.

I didn't have a sissy fit! :D I just let the poster know that certain people are getting really pissed off about all these audioslave threads and will flame people left right and center for creating them, even if they are new here.

Maybe we should have an Audioslave sub-forum.:D

Just a thought, I like the band and I get a little sick of all the threads on them.

So if you're in 'ignoreland' ignore the damn threads maybe?

Their website? This is 'other music' (APART from PJ) .. right?

  • They have a few good songs. I am the Highway is pretty sweet
  • I like them, but I'm not a big fan of Revelations. Atleast through a couple of listens.

That's actually not a bad idea because here's what i found in the 10 first pages of this forum.

Now this is discounting the numerous Soundgarden threads, a few RATM threads and a couple of TOTD with references to Cornell.

As much as some people on here detest them, I'd say that there are a lot of fans here too.

Hmmmm, that took me all of five minutes. I did notice that you, however, have been on here for over a half an hour. ;)

  • Okay, let me get the tally sheet *adds another line*

For some reason I thought this was an answer to the "Why the hate for Audioslave" thread. Let me guess there'd be more by tomorrow.

I like them, the 2nd record not so much, but the 1st one is pretty good, and I haven't heard the new one bit I've heard is better than the 2nd, but I do like them, I saw them live and they were awesome!!

    but Soundgarden was better :D

  • First CD was good, and Out Of Exile was good, also, though it somewhat paled to the debut. I downloaded Revelations a few days ago, though, and it's the worst CD they've put out yet. I like the first three songs, Broken City, Jewel Of The Summertime, and Wide Awake, but everything else on the CD is crap. Easily their worst work to date.

  • Audioslave are great. There aren't any bad song on the first and new albums. The first album is great, the second was ordinary and Revelations is very good. Great to hear a return to more riff rock on Revelations!
