Black Keys - Magic Potion (new album)

I received my advance copy of the Black Keys upcoming Magic Potion yesterday, and upon my first listen during this morning's commute: it's phenomenal.

There wasn't much in the way of the unexpected, but in this case that works wonders. The Keys deliver more of the raw, neck breaking blues that I can't get enough of. There were 1 or 2 tracks that didn't capture my attention, but that's not to say I thought the songs were bad. I also need 2-3 listens before I can really judge, since songs tend to grow on me.

I'm happy that this great band continues to put out quality music!

    ok, this explains the unfamiliar but great black keys songs i heard on a college radio station yesterday morning.

    how the hell did you get it already?!? i thought it was not going to come out until october?

    I'm really looking forward to this album...I just got into the Keys and, judging by the four new songs on their Myspace, this album sounds like it will be their best yet.
    I've faced it, a life wasted, and I'm never going back again.

    Some die just to live.

    I get a good number of advance discs, some direct from labels and others I buy in record shops or on ebay. This one was direct from V2. It's due for release September 12 on Nonesuch, which is a V2 boutique. I believe you may find a copy or two pop up on ebay if you keep an eye out.

    By the way ZepFan...you noted that you just got into them...I have all of their b-sides and some rarities (all on the original CD's and vinyl), and of course the new album, so if you're interested in a trade, please hit me up.
