Bruce Springsteen

Hi,

I never really listened to his music, and it looks like many PJ fans love what he does...
Does everybody think I should "make an effort" and listen to Springsteen ?
If so, what's the best to start ?
Maybe he has different kind of albums. If so, which are the more rock and which are the more acoustic style ?

Thanks in advance.

  • you must listen to Bruce! I agree with Bathgate that Born to Run is where to start and then maybe Greetings. I personally love Nebraska but I know that is not everyone's taste.

The essential Bruce Springsteen three CDs is also a good start, gives you a taste from many of his other CDs.

Born To Run is probably the best place to start, but Springsteen, much like another band I could mention, is best experienced live, so try and get your hands on either his live boxed set or some quality bootlegs (there are many out there).

    while youre at it ,

    a must see  :

is the 30th anniversary package of Born To Runs' release .

The DVD from the 1975 Hammersmith Odeon Concertin London, England is absolutely epic- and one can see for themselves why he is affectionately known as The Boss . Theres no question who is Captain of that E - Street Ship,...;)

Bruce getting MAJOR camera time at tonights NY Yankees game. He was there with his daughter, in Mr Steinbrenners seats- directly behind the on-deck circle on the Yankees side.

building on what the other person said about the Odeon DVD, there is also a double disc live album from the same show and it is absolutely amazing. That and Born to Run were the albums that got me into Springsteen big time earlier this year.
I've faced it, a life wasted, and I'm never going back again.

    Some die just to live.
  • Oooor...just go see him directly in concert whenever you get the chance!! Haha! he's just amazing! I liked him before but didn't listen as much as now, then I saw him in France in 2003 with the E Street...OH MY GOD!!! but yeah, no, seriously, everyone already gave you good advice so...yeah...lol
  • yes, that is a definate must see.

And seeing Bruce live is a must as well, first time I saw him I was hooked, I had to keep going back for more!
