Check out Days of the New. Get their first album. Its pretty grunge like but its all accoustic. I am a big advocate of that cd.

Also, try Screaming Headless Torsos. They are a jazz/funk/rock fusion band. Its pretty fuckin sweet. Pick up anything you can by them - their pretty hard to find though.

You can also try Jimi Hendrix (try and get his stuff post the experience, i.e Band of Gypsys) The Police, the Doors, Rush, Eric Clapton, Cream, Yes, Allman Brothers, Derek Trucks Band, Gov't Mule.
you couldn't swing if you were hangin' from a palm tree in a hurricane.

Check out Acid Mothers Temple. They're an excellent band from Japan. They're quite prolific so have lots of different discs to choose from. Here's their site.

You can listen to samples at this site (a great record store in San Francisco).

I second the Drive-By Truckers recommendation - great band. Here are a couple sites for them.

You can listen to Wolfmother on myspace

they are confirmed as supporting Pearl Jam in Belgium and The Netherlands so we are waiting to hear if they will be doing the rest of the European tour.
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?
