What are some the albums we listen to during the winter season? Why?

stark sad albums like winter can be. lost dogs and red house painters.

  • I can't explain it but I can only listen to "The Beatles (The White Album)" in December.
    "I'm a thief, and I dig it"
  • Alice in Chains is very wintery to me. I also listen to a little more punk during the wintertime as well.
    NERDS!
  • I always enjoyed George Winston's 'December' during the winter.
  • i like to listen to bright eyes in the winter a lot more than any other season. also for some reason, around november and thru the winter i start to listen to stuff that i don't really listen to any other time of year... i'm not sure if it's because that's the season when i first heard that music and i'm trying to recreate a feeling or something. but i definitely seem to "Feel" music most during the winter, just as in the summer i tend to feel it less. it just connects with me on a deeper level. if that makes any sense.

Some of you might think i'm crazy, but i actually like Gary Hoey's Christmas CDs; "HO HO HOEY" and "HO HO HOEY II" particularly the slower songs (O come all ye Faithful, Away in a Manger, etc....) I've been known to break these out a couple weeks before Xmas!!

    You can sample them here:
