im going to see Daniel Johnston in month or so, got the ticket when saw the gig on ticketmaster listings...

...but recently i looked at his site and saw this:

"An Evening with Daniel Johnston and friends" - Daniel's performance will be supported and backed by...
Mark Linkous (Sparklehorse)
Scout Niblett
James McNew (Yo La Tengo)
Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub)
Jad Fair (Half Japanese)

so, im very excited by that news. there are 7 european shows with that lineup, so EVERYONE GO BUY A TICKET!

    hopefully so. just wanted to throw it up here cos i hadnt seen or heard any promo for it, and this guy is a gem. throw in elements of Sparklehorse and Teenage Fanclub and, well, like you said.....interesting night ahead

    whoa, haven't heard Teenage Fanclub mentioned in 15 or so years. Are they in some way linked to Neds Atomic Dustbin or was that one of their album titles?

    Every D Johnston album I've heard has been chocker with wicked songs but his whiney voice holds me back a tad, sometimes.
