Because they're trying new stuff, they're shaking off cobwebs. I went to the 2 showbox shows, and the 2 key shows at the end of 2002, so I'm glad they existed. But those key arena shows had a totally different vibe both from the band and from the crowd.
Even so, count 2002 if you'd like. That was still over half a decade ago that they played a full sized venue in their hometown.

I'll definitely find a way to be sure I'm at both Wiltern shows. But Spreckels Theatre in San Diego is a beautiful place to see a show, so I might have to go to that one, too.

Lucky bastards, I'd consider it especially since even with my lousy 10c number I could score great seats, but early April is a nightmare at work and taking a weekend off is a non-starter.

It's funny because we were talking about him doing a solo tour a lot especially last year and we thought he could pull it off...
And he's finally doing it!
Perhaps if you all show him more support, he'll be encouraged to do more shows in different areas.
You got to think that it would be easier doing it closer to home if you are doing a solo tour for the first time!
I would think he feels more comfortable being closer to ocean, his second home!
