Any or all of these bands are THE best when it comes to kick ass music and lyrics...and being real about what they're on stage for. Of course, why they make records...and what not.

I've met Ian Mackaye and he's just a cool human being.

He does music because he loves it and has a passion for it.

I think Eddie had/has that POV.

Don't know where it's going now, since they've signed to J Records, a BMG label...which is run by one of the most famous record label presidents in the country...or world: Clive Davis.

Punk rawk man...nothing like it.

Cheers,

Meegan

I just got Red Medicine by Fugazi in the mail from Dischord today and am way fuckin pumped to check it out. By far one of the best bands when it comes to principles, musicianship and lyrics in my opinion. My current faves by them are The Argument and Repeater. God they kick ass.

The Rollins Band is one of the more unrated bands in this bunch. The fact that Henry could bring in different groups of guys all the time and still kill it is amazing,

He was credited as Chavo Pederest on the Everything Went Black album and the Jealous Again EP.

Too bad Rollins "retired" from doing music.

His spoken word shows are great.  I saw one of his first such shows in the mid-80s....he was very angry back then, but he has since mellowed out quite a bit!

When I was in high school I worked in a record store and Henry Rollins came in. I didn't know who he was at the time, but a few others who worked there got all flustered about it. Then when I moved to NYC, my second day here I passed him on the street. That was my first of many many celebrity sightings while walking around the city.

    You're thinking of Ron Reyes.

My wife told me a story about something that Rollins did to her friend. I'm not going to go into it, but I will say it was horribly abusive and contradictory to the image he tries to portray. I still listen to Flag, but it's hard to reconcile what I know about him.

Not cool. F..k him. Heard he is outspoken about being a womanizer. But abusive there are no excuses imo.
Hope he's not like that anymore.

Everyone knows he was misgonystic back in the day.  Seeing his interviews and how he is now I would think he mellowed out.  His bassist whom was a female left the band because of this too.  This is also a very long time ago.
