Anyone have Tool 10,000 days on CD yet?

Can you confirm that the leaked version is the same as the cd version as there are a few rumours going about that the leaked version is fake.

What gets me is that if it was a fake cd they really did put a lot of effort into it didn't they? lol

Very true, however it sounds as if a few riffs have been taken from the previous two albums. Vicarious sounds like the schism riff and there is a song that songs like Pushit. Think it's a great album, but you have to wonder what they have been doing for the past 5 years IMO!

The rumor I've heard and think more likely is that theres two albums on the way 10,000 Days and 10,000 Years.:)

LMAO apparently a certain store website(not sure if it was amazon or best buy) have had both listed so I should imagine sometime soon, hopefully, maybe, possibly:)

my g/f's brother works at a record store and is getting the cd in tomorrow. i told him about the 2 versions on target (one released 5/2 the other 5/16 and $10 more) he made a call and the 5/16 one is an import but there's no info on if there's any difference between the import and domestic release

as for vicarious and schism...that's only for the first 30 or so seconds, after that i heard no resemblance to schism and the opening was loosely based on it, it just had more of that type bass line

I think the only song that really seems "rehashed" is Rosetta Stoned.. the first minute and a half sounds like riffs clipped from Undertow and some synth lines taken from Lateralus. The rest of the album seems pretty fresh to me. Vicarious def. is radio friendly though.

I think the intro sounds more like busier version of the Patient. I think the triplet that they toss in right at the end during the preverse(?) sounds like Schism.

Right In Two sounds similar to Pushit, but they are still quite a bit different.

As I said above though, you wonder why it's taken so long to produce this album if they have used bit's and pieces from other songs. It sounds to me like the leftovers from Aenima and Lateralus which is why I thought it may be fake.

Does anybody think itsa possibility that they release another album really soon and then break up after some touring?

I just assumed before that their would be the 4-6 year wait on the next album, but what if they do release "10,000 Years" really soon. Their contract is up. They could get resigned, but why would they.

Adam has other things besides music goin on.

Maynard has Puscifier and his wine.

Danny has Pygmy Love Circus and Volto, not to mention about any drumming gig he asked for.

Keep in mind that in the 5 years between Lateralus and the new record, they toured for about a year (I saw them in Orlando in late-ish 2001, and they played in Daytona in mid-to-late 2002). On top of that, they spend a couple of years on their side things, as has been pointed out. It's not like it took them 5 years to actually write and record 10,000 Days.

i'm not hearing these resembelences that you're all talking of. maybe the last 10 seconds of vicarious sounds like schism, but that's about it. 10,000 days (the song) is as fresh as it gets....the pot is more like an undertow song, only much more creative...and rosetta stoned is just great metal.

the reason for the long wait between albums could have easily been just for the artwork! WOW is all i can say! this is nothing like anything anyone has put on a cd before! havnt actually had a chance to properly listen to the cd yet, the pearl jam album is too good

yes yes i have it and it's beautiful. just holding it in my hands makes me all tingly. i am so loving THE POT. there's some interesting guitar bits on the album i've not heard from adam before. and danny carey. if there's a better drummer around today i've not met him/her.
laat night in the store, the lines were so long it took me 70 minutes just to get a hold of it. but so so worth any lack of sleep.
listening to wings part 2 as we speak.

I bought it today and its certainly better listening to the "real thing" as opposed to downloaded mp3s....LOL don't tell the RIAA. "Vicarious" is a better song then I remember downloading, could be the better sound quality. "The Pot" is fantastic if you turn it up nice and loud and "Wings Part 2" is just a fantastic piece of music. Its so emotional.....
