I am a big fan!!! "Songs for the Deaf" is one of the best records I've ever heard in my life. QOTSA have a hard, heavy sound and Josh Homme is an incredible songwriter. I could not be a much bigger fan really, I hope a new album will be out by 2007.
    Which came first,
the bad idea or me befallen by it?

HUGE Fan right here. Rated R, Songs For The Deaf, Lullabies To Paralyze, three classic albums in my opinion. And the live cd/dvd is amazing. Homme is a genius. I'm actually going out to pick up the new Eagles of Death Metal album today.
Who cares if the world is going down the toilet? Eddie Vedder got his mojo back!

Are they underrated? I don't know! But what I do know is that I like the music of QOTSA.

Do you have the self titled album? It is quite good.

I love these guys and i liked kyuss even more. As far as straight forward rock bands go no one is doing it better then them in my opinion.

I dont really think they are that under rated to be honest, think they get the plaudits they deserve. Havent listened to them in a while but ive got Rated R, Songs for the Deaf and the self titled album, which i think is my favourite.

I was watching some film called wrong turn the other night about a bunch of teens getting chased about the woods by cannibals, it had that girl from buffy in it. The bit at the start had a guy driving and he puts in a cd and its that song 'you cant quit me baby', off the self titled. love that song, really cool.
People say im paranoid. Well, they dont say it, but i know that's what they are thinking.

I saw them perform as the 2nd opening band on the Big Day Out in '99.

    I wouldn't say they were under-rated though. Over-rated, certainly.

    Love this band, they're great.

And I agree that they are somewhat under rated, my fave track is probably either Go With The Flow or Little Sister, what about you guys??

They are without a doubt the greatest band I've heard come out in the last 5 years. Songs for the Death was the best record I purchased in 03 (yes better than riot act), and they are incredible live, seen them 3 times and the only band thats better live is PJ!

Queens of the Fuckin' Stone Age.

One of my favorite bands ever. Every album is so good. I don't know what my favorite is. Lullabies and SFTD are a lock for 1 and 2, they rotate. I was anticipating L2P for so long, and the pay off was fantastic.

Anything that Homme touches turns to gold.

A record sprinkled with Lanegan is an absolute gem. [R, SFTD, L2P]

Now that I think about these guys are right behind PJ in my category.

    Fuckin' A.

i don't know if they are extremely underated...but i am a pretty big fan.

they are very technical with song-writing and the production on all the albums are amazing...but i wouldn't out them in a "virtuoso" category.

Aw, c'mon man. Kyuss has been over for years. Plus the singer sounded like shit for the most part.

I don't think they are overrated at all.

A friend introduced me to them and Kyuss around the time their self-titled came out and I've enjoyed them ever since. I'm just now starting to get into the Dessert Sessions...have only heard the most recent one, but it's some good stuff. I haven't gotten the chance to see them live yet, but they are on my list...

AMAZING band! Josh Homme is the fukcing man. He has the best guitar tone and makes some incredibly grooving riffs. Evey album is gold in my book. I like the fact that he made a heavy ass album like songs for the deaf and then completely switched it up and made a diverse album like lullabies to paralyze. Saw them open up for nin and hope they do a headlining tour soon.
