If you haven't already, may i humbly recommend that you download/listen to the Jeff Buckley's recordings in production when he died......'my sweetheart' are unmastered copies from his 8-track found after he died....In particular - 'Morning Theft' and 'Everybody here wants you'.....And special thanks to his mother who authorised the release of these haunting, beautiful tracks....Life is richer for them......H

Disc 2 is meh..
Well you might not - but no-one else had heard them while he was still alive - And I don't think you read my post clearly - as in the 'these are songs he was working on when he drowned' part....You and Fins should get married - gross attempts at pedantry should always be united......H
You can get it on Limewire - or pretty sure BearShare will have it....Soulseek? Perhaps....H
sigh.
actually you're wrong. jeff had worked on these songs with tom verlaine and andy wallace. he'd even sent copies of what he was working on to his band to expedite the recording process.
so yes, on facts i will get as pedantic as i need to be.
and whilst i wouldn't marry fins, i could learn a great deal from him. and that's a bigger attraction than anything else.

well i imagine like most musicians, jeff went through periods of not being happy with work in progress. and jeff especially was one not to be 'just happy' with his stuff. the band was in memphis with jeff and it was they that left while he worked on. ironically it was whilst they were returning to him that jeff left this world.

Irony. I will never release, until upon open ground.
Thanks. It's sad.

This album doesn't get as much time in my stereo as "Grace" or "Live at Sin-E", but the first disc has some amazing songs. As others have noted, "Everybody Here Wants You" is one such song. I fell in love with it, particularly from the bridge on, upon first listen. The second disc, on the other hand, feels exactly like stuff that was never meant for release, though I won't second guess the beautiful cover of "Satisfied Mind".
Having now heard Mystery White Boy, I wonder why Jeff wasn't working on studio versions of "What Will You Say" and "I Woke Up in a Strange Place".
Some of the tunes on it are a little out there, but it just gives essence to what was and will remain a great and magical musician
i got this album off ebay a few months back......any jeff fan should get it definitely.

if you are talking about the Grace Legacy 10th anniversary edition, then absolutely it's worth buying. the second CD has 'forget her', an hilarious rendition of 'alligator wine' where you hear jeff laugh at the end. priceless.
you also get to hear him sing nina simone's 'the other woman' and 'i want someone badly' with shudder to think. not to mention a version of 'kanga-roo' that goes for 14 minutes. there is no such thing as too much buckley.
do it. go out and buy it right now.

As for the Grace Legacy edition, there's some classics on the second disk, like Strawberry Street, Forget Her and the alternative version of 'Dream Brother'. Whilst some of the others are good, i didnt personally think there was much that stood out. Well worth it, though, especially for the docu disk.
Live at Sin-e legacy edition is the spectacular one. You get to hear Jeff's banter with the crowd.
And if you want to hear anything by him, including rare tracks, go to http://www.mojopin.org and onto the mojoradio. SOme of these are just utterly amazing - especially 'all flowers in time bend towards the sun' sung with elizabeth fraser.
