Excellent choice......although I personally prefer Picaresque (which might be my choice as album of the decade - a close race b/w it and Arcade Fire - Funeral and Broken Social Scene - You Forgot It In People)

    interesting lists...

my lists would be rather boring...the 90s list would be 5 or 6 bands taking up most of the spots...I don't know if I could even get 25 albums on the 00s list as I don't listen to a lot of newer music

I'll certainly have many things in common with you if I make such lists.

Saw a lot of stuff in there I like though.

No problem man, horses for courses. The top ten of the 90's list just fell into place easy. The top 8 albums of the 00's list was so close it really was hard putting them into order, i'm sure next week those 8 albums will have changed around again.

dEUS are great. Weird Belgium artrock for the win :)

    Dirt came close.

Got to admit though Alice are one of the bands from the 90's that I loved that I find hard to listen to now.

'fraid not man. As you can see from the lists I tend to favour Rock, Pop and Indy stuff - Not been into harder stuff for a while now. Both are cool bands though, just not my thing thesedays.

The Hip and Pearl Jam both had quite a few entries which is fair as they are my 2 fav bands right now.

Shirley was a total rock babe. I believe she has a solo album out later this year, could be good - hope so anyway :)

Interesting list. I love the Decemberists, they would totally be up there for me too. Although I am torn between what album would actually be up there.

I would also choose 'We were dead before the Ship Even sank' over 'Good News' but that's just me. If I were not so lazy I would make a list too. But for now I will just admire yours.

Nice to see the Hip in that list too :) If you like them you should check out: The Rheostatics, and Joel Plaskett. I would compare (a little).

Great lists. I was afraid I was going to see the same three bands in the top twenty but you did a good job of being very selective. I think I saw one top 20 list on this board and they were all grunge bands (no offense of course, but that just isn't realistic). New Pornographers is a good choice for the top 10...can't wait for their new album next month (and to see them in concert).

Lots of good albums in there , but I have to say where the hell is The Bends and Binaural?!!The latter being better than Riot Act and Avocado IMO.Also I would have at least one if not more of KOL's albums in there plus both Fuzzy and Mighty Joe Moon by Grant Lee Buffalo.

I much confess my ignorance and say i'd never heard of either of them - I was actually late to the Hip party as well, I only discovered them early last year! I will check out those artists though thanks.

Binaural and No Code didn't make the lists, these are my 2 least fav PJ albums. I'm sure if i pushed the lists to around a top 70 both would appear :).
Radiohead are an oddity for me, I love Ok Computer but never really enjoyed the whole Britpop movement so both Pablo Honey and The Bends never really didn't much for me at all - Same with the albums after Ok Computer, too electronic and lacking in both melody and hooks.
