I think my group could use one of those tickets, I am travelling with two friends, and we are looking for ticket for the third person for WPB and Tampa. We are also renting a car and could give you and your friend a ride to Tampa. We are not 100% sure of all our plans yet, but I will PM you once I talk to my friends, and if they're still available, that would be cool.

my wife complains all the time that i dont explain things very well.

    so here goes

I have 2 extra tickets to the PEARL JAM WEST PALM BEACH show on June 11 2008. As previously mentioned they are very good tix, for the annoying people who keep asking what the number is. I will tell you it is better than what you have if you are considering this. You will most likely be in the 3rd or 4th row, at very worse 5th row.

I am selling them at face value and hoping to get a ride for my friend and I from West Palm Beach to Tampa Bay the next morning.

Yeah but you should have made all your terms clear as well, that you wanted to be paid in advance for the tickets and $100 cash in order to secure your ride.

that means giving you what? $150 + $100 and hope that you show up the day of the show and dont disappear with the money and the tickets?
You might not and be a dishonest person but I don't know you, so I'm going to withdraw my offer of taking you Tampa in exchange for buying the tickets at face value.

I definately understand that you dont want to be left behind after you hand out the tickets, but giving $$$ to a stranger doesn't sound to clever to me either.

I really hope you get a ride and can sell your tickets :) I guess this deal was just not for me.
    Good Luck though

Well, first, me running off with money you send me in advance would be mail fraud, i would not do that.
second, hundreds of people if not more have seen my post here and there are some people who know who i am so it would be pretty dumb of me to burn somebody.
third, the PM i sent started with this is what i PROPOSE, it was simply a suggestion, you could have written me back with some kinda of counter proposal.

    FORTH
you just lost a chance at great tickets!
one of the fifteen other people who inquired will be happy though.

I'm not bashing for you it. I just think that you should have explained the conditions of the trade.
I understand that you want to secure the ride, I said that's just not for me so I dont feel like I lost my chance at very good tickets as I dont feel comfortable giving money to strangers before I can get the tickets, special since I'm not going through an auction ..... probably in my particular case I think that way because i was burned with a pair of tickets and a poster before by another person years back..

That is why i wished you good luck getting your ride and selling your tickets, I'm sure there will be another person or 15 as you mention that will be happy to give you the money in advance and give you cash to secure the ride and do you the favor of driving you to Tampa.

But it was all in good faith, I'm wasn't bitching you out.

One of the other 15 people? Why didn't you just make a deal with the 1st person that made you the offer?

i trusted someone back in 2005 and paid him months in advance for a pair of nice 10c seats. i took the risk, he met me at the box office and now i keep in good contact with him and he hooks me up with a lot of nice shit.

i guess it's all about how you feel about the situation. sometimes i guess i'm just too nice.

I was just like you, very trusting but I have been burnt a couple of times, its nothing against the initial poster, I just traded a poster with someone from here and it was smooth but I was sweating it for a few days until I got the poster, but at the end we were both very happy with the trade.

Years back I paid for tickets this guy had and when the time came he stopped answering his phone and I would get his answering machine and never met me at the show and I ended up with nothing, well not with nothing ended up getting lawn from the box office, but I lost the money and I had the same experience with a poster :( so I guess a couple bad experiences have hardenned me, and I'm still somewhat trusting but I kinda have to know the person at least from chatting or something like that and I'm iffy about giving money out before I receive the goods, unless its attached to an auction.
I wanted to find someone that wanted to do a face to face trade, so I was happy I saw this thread at first, but personally I don’t do deals with money for stuff I don’t get with people I don’t know, call me crazy I guess :D LOL

I hope you can get the tickets, you are doing such a great job organizing the event, I can't wait :)

Hey, back off her. I think she made some valid points about your offer. Plus, not even giving a clue as to what your fan club # is kind of suspicious.

You might be legit and someone may end up with great seats and it will all work out but...asking for all that money up front dose raise an eyebrow and today you can't be too careful.
  • pjcincipjcinci Posts: 225
    tickets are gone...

i did add another catch to the whole deal, the person who got the tickets is required to tell everyone who doubted what i have, how great it was being in the 3rd row.

hope everyone has a good time.

pjcincy doesn't have to say all the details up front. I sold tickets on here recently and of course I'm gonna want $ up front. That secures the deal, even though I won't hand over tickets the day of. It's just a matter of sniffing out the real from the fake..a little common sense goes a long way. Good luck to the person getting wicked seats.

Oh and doubters, don't take modesty for a thief...

If I'm not mistaken he already posted his tickets have been taken.

Seniority does matter for location, only rows 1,2,9 and 10 are random. Other than that the better your number the better your seat.

    you're kind of a douche a little bit...actually, you are a douche

not just with this post but more how you handled responding to some of the people on here.

i could care less about your tickets, i was only trying to help the owner of Connolly's. I know I'll have nice seats myself, but I don't care where I sit.

I'll be holding the event at Connolly's, feel free to come say hi. I'll be more than happy to talk to ya...

Let me know when you have time throughout the week hows the planning and what items and stuff do we have for the raffle/auction ....

I guess its good someone will have good seats at the show, but that's why I backed up, it went from a thread that sounded like the dude needed a favor to asking for money to secure the ride? Kinda sucks to ask money from people that are willing to give you a ride... I guess what he really thought is that he was doing people a favor by giving up his very good tickets for face value

What is it about Pearl Jam that makes everyone gloat over the deeds they perform. Sell the tickets , ask for the ride , enjoy yourself. This band does nothing but bring out the worst in peiople on this board.
Why is it always a contest, or a bunch of people looking for praise.
Sorry, I also would have gave you the ride for nothing. And why would you need to take 100 dollars for a ride that you need. If you think 1 fan would be that dishonest, you should have no problem understanding why they wouldnt want to give you 250 up front for tickets.
Some people have religion I have Pearl Jam.

    no more shows
