btw - BESt genesis album? the lamb lies down on broadway
Let's just breathe...
I am myself like you somehow
p.s. huge excitement for Peter's new album
I was listening to Steve Hackett the other day and had a moment of amazement about the talent that was once collected within that band: Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Steve Hackett, Tony Banks, and Mike Rutherford - that's a pretty stellar line-up...
I saw the Abacab Tour in 1982 and the 1983 or 1984 Tour I think the album was just called Genesis, real good shows real good musicians I really liked Chester Thompson the drummer who used to tour with them. I really wish I could have seen them with Gabriel for The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway Tour or even in 1977 when Steve Hackett was still in the band and Bill Bruford played drums on tour, but I was just a young lad at that time since I was born in 1969.

I'm not a huge Genesis fan but went to see them when they toured for this album cos my boyfriend at the time was into them. I wasn't expecting to really enjoy it but it was bloody brilliant, and I find it one of the most memorable concerts i've been too. I think Calling All Stations is definately worth picking up if only for Not About Us
PS. Have got Lamb Lies Down On Broadway which I love
London, Copenhagen 07
MSG 08
SBE, Manchester, London 09
Dublin, Belfast, London 10
They did a one off reunion show at the Milton Keynes Bowl in the UK back in 1982? I went with some friends who had a spare ticket. Things I remember most from that day were the awful support acts, torrential rain and 4 hours to get out of the mud bound car park afterwards.
I did enjoy the show and can remember Peter Gabriel being carried on stage in a coffin at the start, then rising from the dead! It was cool to see Steve Hacket and a big bonus was Phil Collins stayed behind the drum kit for all but one song.
yup 1982...i wasnt there but still get the chills today when i listen to that bootleg
if there was a band i'd pay $250 to see reunite it would be them, with peter.
i think the last show i saw was the mama tour and i really digged phil's first 2 solo albums
in the cage rawks
