Adrift in a sea of Neil Young

I'm not quite a Neil Young virgin; I own Mirrorball and Ragged Glory, but quite clearly this is based on the PJ connection in both cases.

I've just listened to Living with War and I was really impressed.

Now I want to get into more of his stuff akin to the albums above. Where should I start? I've read the other thread about standout tracks on bad albums, but what do you consider to be strong Neil albums?

Thanks! :)

Decade - Its a double disc greatest hits collection. Cant go wrong
  • Zuma is really good. So is Harvest Moon. I like the MTV Unplugged album as well. Rust Never Sleeps is the 1st Neil Young album I owned.

i would say decade is a good starting point, as it gives you an idea of the evolution of neil's sound and songwriting. it's not hard to find out what albums your favourite tracks are on and then search out those albums. it's only a matter of time until you become a neil freak! :) i would agree, you can't go wrong with decade.
  • Sweet Googa Mooga. His new albums are AMAZING. Living with War is in my top 5 Neil albums of all time, which is saying a lot.

Agreed........ works as a sampler so you can decide which phase of his early career interests you the most.
