I'd have to agree, Still Life just barley wins out. Its because there is such a great mix of heavy-ness and beautiful acoustic melodies on this album compared to the others.
  • Either or. Buy everything opeth, they're amazing.

  • Everything Opeth does is excellent. Personally, I have to go with Still Life. As weird as it sounds, I think MAYH has better written songs, but the imagery I get from Still Life is unbelievable.

    Two great concept albums.

But thats not the only good song it has, did you hear their cover of Circle of the Tyrants(originally be Celtic Frost). Also, Credence is a great song.

But, for some reason iTunes doen't have Still Life, but they have Orchid?? I think that it's weird that they wouldnt have Still Life, what do you think??

don't hold me too this, however I think Still Life was released under a different label. that would explain why iTunes may not have it.

Still Life and MAYH were released on the same label but, Orchid was released on a different label and so was Ghost Reveries.

That's incorrect. MAYH was released by Candlelight/Century Media whereas Still Life was released by Peaceville. Their three subsequent albums (Blackwater Park, Deliverance and Damnation) were released by Music for Nations before the label folded, and they're currently signed to Roadrunner, who released Ghost Reveries.

The latter I am giving a spin after work :D
