All DM fans post here, I'll name some bands to start: Opeth, Cryptopsy, In Flames, Amon Amarth, etc...

    i wouldnt consider In Flames death metal...they're just regular metal..

    death metal is like cannibal corpse, dimmu borgir, morbid angel, type o negative, obituary..

    Dimmu Borgir is Black Metal, and In Flames is from the Gothenburg Sound so Melodic Death Metal.

    *Gojira is fuckin amazing, and have great potential. I see them hittin it big in the metal scene within the next year. They are phenomenal live as well, i've seen em twice. Their time signatures and muting is crazy.

    Another great in this genre is Soilwork. Their melodies are amazing, and again, a great live experience. I'll never forget the show last november when i saw them with 5 other death metal bands in the basement of a church with no security and no barrier with only 200 peeps. It was the craziest shit and most amazing energy experienced with them.

    Ok, not that I had to post this, but I always laugh at names like that for a band... it's kinda lame... and funny :p

    This should just be called the "Metal" thread since there will always be the debate over whats "this" kind of metal and whats "that" kind of metal.

    I have amon amarth's fate of norns and with oden on our side and i like both a lot.

    Kind of sucks about opeth their second guitarist quit the band but i think the guitarist from Arch Enemy is going to join so that is pretty cool.
