I'm glad I got to see them live a couple times, that's for sure.

I think their later studio albums are underrated.

I own all their albums and love all of them. I followed them on tour for 10 shows!

I am 100% in agreement. I discovered Phish this summer, and there will be no going back. Its hard to believe there are only four people in this band ... Their live stuff is often so intricate.

    Favorite Phish songs right now:
    Fee
    Piper
    Sanity
Julius (live, not the studio version so much)
    Limb By Limb
    Run Like An Antelope
    Divided Sky
    Taste

    ...

And has another band ever approximated their ability to play so many different songs over the course of one tour? These guys often did four or more shows in a row with few or NO repeats.

I never got to see Phish live! I should have taken my chance when they last played the Woodlands pavilion, but my parents had scheduled our yearly vacation that week. However, I did see Trey Anastasio open for Tom Petty about two weeks ago, and he is a really great guitar player. Fun music to listen to. He played 2 songs off Farmhouse first tube, and heavy things. As of now, farmhouse and Billy Breathes are the only two albums I have, but I plan on getting more.

There are rumours of a reunion this fall ... Of course, there are always rumours of a reunion, apparently.
Those two albums were my first as well ... I think my third was Lawnboy.

I have been trying to find the the show where they covered the entire Beatles White album. All i know is it was in NY somewhere on 10/31.... not sure of the year... can you help me with this?

    Round Room, yeah

Undermind, no. This one sounded like Adult Contemporary to me

Would love to see them get back out there this fall. I've seen some rumors but it sounds like things will be different if they do go back on tour

Does anyone know the real story behind this last hiatus/breakup? Everything I've read is generalities.

The break-up this time was due to them "not wanting to become a nostalgia act", as Trey put it. Apparently Mike Gordon put up a fight but the other 3 were all for ending Phish and going out on top (though to be honest I think their peak ended in 1998, with flashes of brilliance after that era). Trey and Page wanted to get away from the Phish thing and just see what else was out there, reconnect with friends, not feel like they had to tour all the time.

  • I went to SPAC for the final tour and decided I can do without the whole scene. No offense to by anymeans, but I just don't like the whole spinning around, arms out, stinky pits deal. I know that is harsh and I should have expected it, but this was on a whole new level. Maybe I'm just getting old.

I do enjoy the music though. I like jam bands, love to dance but maybe it's just with my buddies. I think they are amazing musicians!

4 for your listening pleasure. My personal favorite is 6/11/94. It is a short jam but my GOD is it intense. Phish at their finest as far as I am concerned. I send that version of people all the time. The other 3 in there are top notch too.
