Tool does nothing for me, but they have to be the most talked about band on this forum the past couple of weeks and when you don't like a band and that's all anyone talks about it gets really annoying. But I don't mind because people have their own opinions

    Tool is fantastic

They get a lot of attention because they are very unique and intense.

Actually that title would go to freaking Wolfmother. Tool is right up there though. Don't care for either one of them personally, although I dig some of Too's early videos with the freaky claymation.

I agree, I have a helluva good time trying to decipher the lyrics and playing covers of their songs in my band!!

Aenima is a fucking awesome album. They can go write whatever the hell they want as long as I can listen to Aenima in peace.

tool basically reminds me of my youth.. pearl jam and tool both actually.. they were the only non seattle band that i listened where the entire time i wasn't trying to compare them to seattle bands because they had their own unique lyrics and sound.. i love them

there are a lot of tool threads in the pj forums but im replying to this one because its the first one i seen after getting floor tickets to the calgary show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perfect Circle is very good. I prefer Tool over them myself though.

And since I'm the man and you are not, then that means you must be wrong!

    Just kidding bro

I have infinite love for Tool. One of my 3 favourite bands. I think The first 3 albums (Undertow, aenima, lateralus) are all masterpieces and 10,000 days is extremely good but my love goes deeper than just the (sparse) music they have made. I rarely connect with a musician like I did with Maynard James Keenan. It's really only happened with him, eddie and Layne Staley. If Tool never made another album, what they've given me would be enough. I know that makes me sound like a fanboy: I don't give a shit :D

I agree, the albums are complex musically AND lyrically (still trying to decipher "Lateralus" any help?, send it in a private message.)! I find that quality rare in bands and that is why I spend thousands of dollars for front-row seats! http://forums.pearljam.com/images/icons/icon10.gif
