i have the complete oppposite opinion. i think this is the best rap we've got since the early and mid 90s. i thought rap sucked around the turn on the century for sure though.

ridin dirty - love it, chamillionaire has been stellar so far
50 cent - i did a complete 180 on my opinion of him, i think he has some of the best produced songs, like window shopper

yes, yes, YES! mainstream rap sucks badly. no one of substance...it's all abou tbling-bling, don p, flashin money around...there is some really good rap but you won't hear it on the radio or mtv b/c it's not as commercialized. and 50 cent may be well produced (subjective) but production can never make up for lack of substance

No, it's definetly some of the worst music ever produced. It has no purpose, meaning, originality, etc. It's an abomination.

And Insane Clown Posse is probably the worst band in history (including limp bizcuit).


Beastie Boys, Jurassic 5, Atmosphere... there is still incredible hip hop being produced, but like rock music, basically any of it that's worth a damn is hidden far away from the mainstream.

dude, like, thats just your opinion. j/k. i used to let the purpose and meaning of a song matter to me, but then i decided i like shallow silly music too. and i started liking bands like ac/dc and van halen again (oh wait, we're talking about rap). i usually don't care what it is about if it sounds good. listen to how close "window shopper" is to rock. rap really is the best it has been at least ten years, IMHO. do you really not like "miss new booty"? oh well, i used to call rap crap and thought it was all stupid and unoriginal, but hey i also called myself a republican back then. i've got much better perspective now ushered in by real life.

Alt-Rap, Horrorcore, and West-Coast is good, and well, "Fiddy" is a terrible representation of rap as a whole and for that, I will hate a lot of modern rap(however T.I. had one good song, but still that's only one, compared to the roots who have albums like The Tipping Point that are just awesome).

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic.

Music without substance is terrible.

But on top of that, fifty cent, and all his peers completely lack writing talent. The music itself is really, really god awful. Same with hair metal. "artists" that don't have the ability to put substance into the music almost always make terrible music all around. As a matter of fact, I can't tell which is worse.. Today's mainstream rap or hair metal.. they're uncontested as the 2 worst music eras in history.

Listen to 50 cent and something like the best Beastie Boys records or The Roots and tell me which has the talent.

Dude, I'm not Shaggy, I just got into ICP recently and whenever I get into a band, I tend to rave about them on forums and you probably like that SexBack song or whatever the fuk its called by justin timberlake.

The stuff that is passing for rap nowadays is discracefully tacky pop music, and fifty cent is the worst offender in my opinion. The beats are so plastic and so damn boring its a shame, and rappers like the members of d12 etc. arent even rapping!!

In my opinion its shit pop music for impressionable kids to snigger at because it has some sweary words in it. the only decent rap music that i have heard any where close to the mainstream recently has been from Mc Abdominal, although to be fair i havent been making a point of listening to much rap music, but most of it that i see on tv is so uninteresting and as manufactured as any of the million or so boybands running about.

In most cases we'd just say "it's your opinion, listen to what you love" but seriously dude, ICP has GOT to be the worst band in the world.

Limp Bizcuit intentionally ruined "Behind Blue Eyes" (considering what Durst did spelling out l-i-m-p-b-i-z-c-u-i-t in the middle of the song tells me it couldn't have been anything but intentional) and they still fall short of ICP's glory as shittiest, most annoying band in the world. Terrible.
