    Amanda Woodward by far is the best non-English speaking band. sort of like the Refused, but French! on Level Plane.

    Sigur Ros, definitely.

    Mano Negra, a french/latino band that split up years ago but the frontman is endlessly touring, some of you probably know him, he's Manu Chao.

    Noir Désir, the best French rock band ever (ask any real rock fan in France, there's few doubts about that), but marred by a tragedy a couple of years ago, where the singer killed his girlfriend during a fight. He's in jail since.

    I saw Manu Chao and Kinky play a gig a few months ago.....they have a great niche!

    Kinky is one of the best live bands around!
