I'm getting into power metal and i have been into iced earth for the longest time as well as many(over 100) extreme metal bands. I never really bothered wth power metal though and I would like some help by any fellow metalhead.

eh, power metal isn't something I care for anymore, I really hate bands like Rhapsody and Manowar (okay, I don't hate, but I also don't care for that much and don't listen to voluntarily), but Blind Guardian is really good. I like Tales from the Twilight Hall the best, but their last two have been pretty good (although A Night At The Opera is almost overbearingly epic, which bugs the hell out of me). Dragonforce is a good listen for a few songs, but most any song that isn't "Fury Of THe Storm" gets me thinking that just because bad songs are played at lightning speed, they are still bad songs.

A lot of Folk Metal kind of infringes on the powermetal genre, so you'd probably enjoy some Finntroll or Ensiferum (or even Tyr). Adagio is some really epic orchestral metal that topuches on power metal, so you could enjoy that too. Then we have Demons and Wizards, which is Jon's side project (from Iced Earth)
