I can't stop listening to these bands as of late:

The Zutons
Vampire Weekend
Kaiser Chiefs
Chrisjack
The Magic Numbers

Just thought I would throw that out there.
Hey, you wouldn't hire a clown to fix a leak in the jon so why do you let these hooligans tear down the biz? YEEAAHHH. I don't care if he is Mr. Notorious BIG, can he croon?

Love the Kaiser Chiefs ... their live shows are so crazy ... the were nuts last year at Coachella.

I've listend to the Vampire Weekend tunes a few times .... some catchy hooks ... but, I'm not overwhelmed.

I'm truly saddened to see that the Kaiser Cheifs have made it to America and are now polluting your airwaves aswell. You have my sympathies.

Arctic Monkeys or Bloc Party would be my pick of the British Indie scene at the minute. Lately though I've been listening to: Gutter Twins, Band Of Horses, Explosions In The Sky (thanks to a few people on this board) and of course the new REM and Counting Crows.

I actually really dig the Vampire Weekend. I don't really buy in to the hype but the cd gets a lot of spins.

I dropped 160.00 this past weekend at indie record store day so I am still getting to that stack..but the MGMT cd I like a lot so far as well.

Bloc Party especially. They're the only real decent thing to come out of it.

Vampire Weekend annoys the hell out of me.
"I try my best to chug, stomp, weep, whisper, moan, wheeze, scat, blurt, rage, whine, and seduce. With my voice I can sound like a girl, the boogieman, a Theremin, a cherry bomb, a clown, a doctor, a murderer. I can be tribal. Ironic. Or disturbed. My voice is really my instrument."

Not many Vampire Weekend fans....oh well. I really dig them.

As far as the British bands goes, I got Cabelvision HD about a year ago and there is a live music channel called Rave HD. They have a show about the Glastonbury Festivals and that is what got me into the Kaiser Chiefs and the Zutons. Also, there is a show called Live with Jools Holland. It is basically a "Tonight Show" but just musical acts. The one episode that Pearl Jam was on The Zutons were one of the guests that night as well. Plus the sax player (Abi Harding) for The Zutons if f'n hot!! She looks like Jennifer Aniston.
Hey, you wouldn't hire a clown to fix a leak in the jon so why do you let these hooligans tear down the biz? YEEAAHHH. I don't care if he is Mr. Notorious BIG, can he croon?

Oh man. You totally missed your chance to make the title of this thread "I have been myhooked on these bands lately."
Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.

ive been hopelessly hooked on radiohead for the past 4 months. no other band comes close to getting the spins they do on my player. well...maybe ryan adams, but hes got twice(maybe more) the amount of albums radiohead have. :)

That'd be Later with Jools Holland. Awesome show...he has some very diverse acts on there...and usually tops it off with some well known, flash in the pan indie band.

  • Jools Holland and his rhythm and blues orchestra are really good to see live too :p
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.
