Seven Mary Three

I know I may get blasted for this, but Seven Mary Three has some pretty good music. I know a lot of people consider them a poser band, but Rock Crown is an awesome album full of different songs. Anyone else out there like me?

    I spin a few songs from the first album sometimes. When i want to have a 90's nostalgia moment. Songs like My My, Cumbersome, Water's Edge etc.

    I did not care much for the next album with the exception of the song Lucky. That song was killer.

    The only song of theirs that I ever really liked was Cumbersome.

    A band from my hometown always covered that song at their shows, and they did it better than 7M3 though....that may be why it was the only song of theirs that I ever liked......

    Yeah, I gotta say I was pretty much done with them after American Standard. It was nice while it lasted though.

    I'm right there with you - the new album is pretty great, too - I've argued here until my face is blue that they unfairly get lumped into 1990s also-rans, but it doesn't matter...

    I'm a big fan of Jason Ross' lyrics and music - no one else has to be...

    They've got a pretty solid, die-hard fanbase - are great to the fans - and do put on a hell of a live show...

    Edit: Rock Crown is a classically overlooked and underrated album...

    I've seen them live twice and they are great. I don't know why they never made it bigger than they did. Jason Ross is a very solid songwriter. Go see them live if you get the chance. I definitely will if they come back to this area. Too bad Ziggy's hasn't found a new location yet...

    They do have some good tunes...and the song, "Black Wing," that they did for the first MOM compilation (the disc with Gremmie Outta Control) is AMAZING!

    i agree with you. fucking great band. rockcrown is a masterpiece. i love the first three records and the new one, but even the ones in between are decent. ross rights himself some great lyrics--not always, but more often than most.

    I saw them back in college & it was a pretty good show!

    I don;t have too many of their albums, but I really like that song "Lame"
