for all of you who are going to see Rush this tour, you will be very amazed at the show they put on. i was never a HUGE rush fan. i know many of their songs and have alot of albums but i wouldn't go as far as saying i'm a diehard or whatever. anyhow, saw them last night in mohegan sun arena here in CT, and damn they OWNED the place. the setlist was absolutely PERFECT first off. all the great hits, the best off the new album, and some awwwwesome epic fan favs that aren't too common [natural science, between the wheels, mission] in my case. geddy's voice sounded great, better than his sqeaky early days by far. and damn could that man play bass. the best bass playing i have ever seen live, no doubt. the way he goes from bass to synth is so cool. neil peart had like a 10 minute drum solo and i just got chills. it was absolutely ridiculous. i had never heard any drumming like that before. unbelievable. and of course alex's guitar sounded fantastic. they had some insane light and laser shows goin on, and reaaaally awesome clips going on the tv's in back of the band which honestly played a huge role in making the show great. at one point they had a giant dragon on the screen blowing fire and all of a sudden fire would come shooting from the stage. cool stuff. overall the concert was just amazing. it definitley boosted my appreciation for Rush even more.

off the top of my head here was the songs played in the setlist. this is possibly not all in order and i probobly am missing some. but off the top of my head here's an idea.

    Limelight
    Freewill
    Mission
    The Main Monkey Business
    The Larger Bowl
    Spindrift
    Circumstances

    -intermission-

    Far Cry
    Armor And Sword
    Workin' Them Angels
    The Way The Wind Blows
    Subdivisions
    Between The Wheels
    Natural Science
    Hope/Malignant Narcissim/long drum solo
    Distant Early Warning
    Spirit Of The Radio

    -ENCORE-

    Tom Sawyer
    One Little Victory
    A Passage To Bangkok
    La Villa Strangiato

i'm pretty sure the set went very close to that. i think i got most of the songs there and most in order. it was great. loooong ass show too.

Begin the day with a friendly voice, a companion unobtrusive
Plays that song that's so elusive
And the magic music makes your morning mood.
Off on your way, hit the open road
There is magic at your fingers
For the spirit ever lingers -
Undemanding contact in your happy solitude
    Invisible airwaves crackle with life
Bright antenae bristle with the energy
    Emotional feedback, on timeless wavelength
Bearing a gift beyond price - almost free
All this machinery making modern music
    Can still be open-hearted
Not so coldly charted; it's really just a question of your honesty.
One likes to believe in the freedom of music
But glittering prizes and endless compromises shatter the illusion of integrity
    Invisible airwaves crackle with life
Bright antenae bristle with the energy
    Emotional feedback, on timeless wavelength
Bearing a gift beyond price - almost free

    The Trees live is amazing!!
    ***************************
There is unrest in the forest,
There is trouble with the trees,
For the maples want more sunlight
And the oaks ignore their pleas.

    The trouble with the maples,
(And they're quite convinced they're right)
They say the oaks are just too lofty
And they grab up all the light.
But the oaks can't help their feelings
If they like the way they're made.
And they wonder why the maples
Can't be happy in their shade.

There is trouble in the forest,
And the creatures all have fled,
    As the maples scream "Oppression!"
And the oaks just shake their heads

So the maples formed a union
    And demanded equal rights.
    "The oaks are just too greedy;
We will make them give us light."
Now there's no more oak oppression,
For they passed a noble law,
And the trees are all kept equal
    By hatchet, axe, and saw.
So I'll just lie down and wait for the dream
Where I'm not ugly and you're lookin' at me
