OK, I've been a fan of the Cure since like 2nd grade which was in 1992 during The Wish album tour. But can someone please explain how the Cure's albums "Pornography", "Disinegration", and "Bloodflowers" all connect. Many people, including Robert Smith say they are all related in so many ways, but I don't really see how. Can someone explain this too me?

I don't really see the connection, either. I guess the morose theme of the three records links them, but the "fan trilogy" of Seventeen Seconds / Faith / Pornography has a lot more relevance in terms of connectivity to me.

If I had to guess, I'd think they were connected in that they have songs that seem to be related to Robert Smith's experience as a man at different ages.

You could think of it as three chapters in a book: one when the main character is young, another when he's a bit older, and then the third when he's starting to think about middle age.

  • From Amazon's review of the TRILOGY DVD:

"Trilogy underscores the tonal and lyrical connections between three of the Cure's darkest albums in the last 20 years."

Great DVD, amazing quality by the way!!!
