Creedence-Run Through the Jungle >John Fogerty-Old Man Down the Road

I think thats the right Creedence song. The Creedence record company actually sued John Fogerty for stealin his own song.

I soon forgot the name of it too. ;)

But the Who song is Blue, Red and Grey.

Those are straight samples and the original artists both ended up making good money off of the new songs. Rap has too many songs like that to count, the entire genre is based on sampling. I think the original purpose was songs that sound very strangely firmilar to something else, but don't come out and acknowledge they stole from somebody.

I thought of another one: "Counting Blue Cars" by Dishwalla and "Cast No Shadow" by Oasis. I always thought the choruses were very similar.

The chorus of "Feel Good Inc" by Gorillaz has the exact same melody as the verse to "Staring At The Sun" by U2. Doesn't anyone else hear this?

have not notice that one, but now, man, the melody sound way too familiar.

the offspring rip off the offspring on every album;)

Oasis a lot of there songs seem to have a Beatles riff in them somewhere especially that All Around The World and Champagne Supernova, blatant plaguerism.

Well it's not a real rip off but:

One song on "And the circus leaves town" by Kyuss I think it is El rodeo, sounds a bit like when Eddie goes tu du du du tu du du in Black. I don't know if this is any clear at all, but anyway what Ed does with his voice is done by guitar in this song.

The intro of the Rage Against the Machine song "Born of a Broken Man" sounds a lot like a Stone Temple Pilot song off of Purple. I think it is Lounge Fly but not sure.

my eldest daughter came to me and asked me to identify a song.
i think it's pearl jam she said. okay give me some lyrics. she does. there is no way pearl jam have a song with the words fat boy in them. are you sure?. (incredulous roll of the eyes) yes i'm sure. it's silverchair. the song is tomorrow.
a couple of weeks later the other daughter comes to me with the same enquiry. i can't remember what the song was, but it was one of silverchair's.
i just found it amusing that both times they mistook silverchair for pearl jam. to be fair, frogstomp is a bit grungerama.
no self respecting pearl jammer or silverchair fan would have been mistaken but neither of my daughters could even be called a casual pearl jam or silverchair listeners.

The Beatie Boys song "Open letter to NYC" has the guitar riff of Sonic Reducer in it...

And Kid Rock's "Devil without a cause" has the same riff as Metallica's "Sad but true".. now that's sad...!!!

but thats because they used it as a sample. They're not claiming to call it their own melody or riff.

    we're talking about non samples.
  • A bunch of Jet songs sound like a bunch of other tunes!!!

Cold Hard Bitch - Stiff Upper Lip

Are You Gunna Be My Girl - That Iggy Pop song

The guitar solo little bridge part in Cold Hard Bitch is Taking Care of Business!!! It's actually like the exact same....listen to it!!

    I thought of another one:

"Working For The Weekend" - I can't remember who sings it but it sounds very similar to "Sex Type Thing" by Stone Temple Pilots, the guitar does anyway.
