dude.....that record of theirs (In the Aeroplane Over the Sea) is one of the greatest indie records ever made. EVER.

I think I cried the first time I heard it.

    simply amazing.

it really doesnt sound like any of those artists. it's in a class by itself.

the lead singer has a really nasally/out of tune voice....most of the music is acoustic with some trumpet and bass.

That is good news. Well the Motorpsycho part that is. Not the flat broke part.

Dinosaur jr. That has been on my list for years. I never get to it. But I will get to it soon now. Because I am part of three music forums and on all three the are mentioned. I most get into them and see what they are about.

ther are pretty heavy....J Mascis is a guitar god. Probably my all time favorite guitarist.

If you are gonna check out a record of theirs, check out "You're Living All Over Me" - its the best.

if you can wait a few weeks, I was thinking about using that as my SMC pick.....but I'm not sure how many of you SMC members have heard it so I dunno...it's between that, the wrens, and the keene brothers (tommy keene and robert pollard).

heh not at all. the Keene Brothers is a side project band of Robert Pollard (ex-guided by voices front man) and indie artist Tommy Keene.

they just put out their first record. it has a nice summer pop feel, so I thought it might be a good pick.
