sorry, but i just dont get the whole "announce a FULL southern tour" request....they are coming back to the south this year, that IS what we asked for, right?

this thread was started because they skipped the ENTIRE region without any warning when they announced the legs of the 06 tour one at a time, so the fact that they are coming back at all should be enough to make everyone here happy, although that would probably be next to impossible..........;)

anyway, i just want to say it again, thanks for playing the south! thanks for coming back!

i think if the schedule came out to be something more like columbia, va beach, houston, dallas, you'd feel differently....

absolutely, but most of those places are easier to get to from here than seattle, europe, california, and so on. i understand that everyone wants them to play close by, but i don't understand the "full southern tour" request. what exactly would that be? hit every southern state? enlighten me....

i guess 4 shows in 3 states is not exactly a "southern tour". they're playing 6 or 8 shows in a relatively small geographic areain the northeast. kinda weird how they play two small markets and two medium markets (both of those in florida), but leave out the other top 10 (houston, dallas, atlanta) and upper-size and important medium markets like charlotte or raleigh (just examples, you know).

Well Said. I feel VERY lucky to be able to go see PJ two times this year- in the South- but I have friends that live in other states that haven't seen them in awhile and also can not afford to travel. So....

    Thanks for Bonnaroo

Thanks for coming to the Southeast

agreed, its more of a tiny little tour of the east coast than a southern tour, but given all of the talk on this thread over the last two years regarding why they would or would not ever play the south again, i am just very happy to see it kicking off in florida. if and when there is a new album, i'm sure those larger markets will get their shows, but i know how bad it sucks to have to wait it out!

and so with that being said....

thanks for playing the south again!

see you in west palm and tampa!

The Eagles are playing 4 days straight there? I wish I liked the Eagles. How cool would it be if that was PJ!

Eagles are ok. Not my favorite but I did manage to get tickets to the first 2 shows. They only planned playing one show but it sold out in the first couple minutes and same with the second and third.

I talked with a fellow last night who is interested in promoting some concerts in our fair town of Tallahassee. He asked me to give him a few names of bands I'd like to see come to play here, so you know the first one I told him?

    That's right...Drive-by Truckers.

'Cause Pearl Jam would only come here if the tour bus needed gas between Tampa and Bonnaroo.

What degree are you studying for? Appears to be forestry, but I could be way off.

At least there's plenty o' flora in The Dirty South for you to practice your field botany.

Cool- didn't they come to the Beta Bar about a year or so ago? I could be wrong. Well, it looks like the Tally meet-up is a bust, oh well, maybe another time. I'm still thinking about going though- it all depends on the money situation. What about you?
