Lukin, just wondering...(0% trying to start trouble)
would you drive to Miami if they played there? what about Atlanta?
obviously i dont know anything about you, but whats the furthest you have driven for a show from one of their tours?
rightbackatcha. what's the farthest you've had to drive?
me, i've driven 5 and 6 hours one way 4 or 5 times. i have also gotten on airplanes and flown thousands of miles in 4 to 6 hours at least 5 times.
If there are more then 5 down here I would be surprised. But 4 or 5 is so much better then 0.
Seeing visions of falling up somehow.

I've definitely done some traveling so if it came down to it and it was only northern shows for some reason, i'd still find my way there. I've been to Philly, Grand Rapids, Boston, etc. It's not a problem for me to get around, I just feel bad for the people down here that can't travel so much and don't have the opportunity to see these guys in their hometown.
So please don't take my comment as a North vs. South thing here, just looking out for my fellow southerners.

Yeah, and I don't want to turn this thread into a "Texans bitching about not getting a show" thread, but come on!
If it happens and we don't get one, maybe I'll start another thread for Texans who maybe want to get together and go hit a show somewhere else. There have been plenty of us on this thread.

When IS the last time you got a show in Texas? It must have been in 2003 or 2004 right? because I have one of the "Bomb Texas" posters with Bush depicted as a Gorilla and Cheney as a bee with a swaztika on his head. Awesome freaking poster.

Yeah, long time. The 2004 VFC show in Kissimmee is really the only show for the entire South since then isn't it? The band needs to have at least 9 shows in the South to make up for all that time.

To be honest, if I can get the time off and have the money, I don't care how far I have to drive to see them. One good thing about Atlanta is AirTran. You can catch some cheap fares if you don't mind buying your ticket at the airport. And they fly a lot of cities now - not like when they first started up. Plus they are a hell of a lot better than most of the airlines out there now....planes are new.

i took a shot of cocaine....and i shot my woman down......
i went right home and i went to bed......
i stuck that lovin 44 beneath my head.........
got up the next morning and i grabbed that gun........
took a shot of cocaine and away i run.........
made a good run...but i run to slow.....
they overtook me down in Juarez Mexico.......................
Take me piece by piece..... Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
Bump to the front and back to work for quite a while.....

There's a southern accent,
where I come from
The young'uns call it country
The Yankees call it dumb
I got my own way of talkin'
But everything is done,
with a southern accent
Where I come from
Now that drunk tank in Atlanta's
Just a motel room to me
Think I might go work Orlando
If them orange groves don't freeze
I got my own way of workin'
But everything is run,
with a southern accent
Where I come from
I got my own way of working
When everything is wrong
With a southern accent
Where I come from
For just a minute there I was dreaming
For just a minute it was all so real
For just a minute she was standing there, with me
There's a dream I keep having
Where my mama comes to me
And she kneels down over by the window
And says a prayer for me
I got my own way of prayin'
But everyone's begun
With a southern accent
Where I come from
We have our own way of livin'
But everything is done
With a southern accent
Where I come from
goin down to florida......and get some sand in my shoes......
or maybe california......and get some sand in my shoes.....
ride that orange blossom special ........and lose these new york blues.....
Take me piece by piece..... Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
There once was a musical troupe
A pickin' singin' folk group
They sang the mountain ballads
And the folk songs of our land
They were long on musical ability
Folks thought they would go far
But political incompatibility
led to their downfall
Well, the one on the right was on the left
And the one in the middle was on the right
And the one on the left was in the middle
And the guy in the rear was a Methodist
This musical aggregation toured the entire nation
Singing the traditional ballads
And the folk songs of our land
They performed with great virtuosity
And soon they were the rage
But political animosity prevailed upon the stage
Well, the one on the right was on the left
And the one in the middle was on the right
And the one on the left was in the middle
And the guy in the rear burned his driver's license
Well the curtain had ascended
A hush fell on the crowd
As thousands there were gathered to hear The folk songs of our land
But they took their politics seriously
And that night at the concert hall
As the audience watched deliriously
They had a free-for-all
Well, the one on the right was on the bottom
And the one in the middle was on the top
And the one on the left got a broken arm
And the guy in the rear, said, "Oh dear"
Now this should be a lesson if you plan to start a folk group
Don't go mixin' politics with the folk songs of our land
Just work on harmony and diction
Play your banjo well
And if you have political convictions
keep them to yourself
Now, the one on the left works in a bank
And the one in the middle drives a truck
The one on the right's an all-night deejay
And the guy in the rear got drafted
There's a southern accent,

The young'uns call it country
The Yankees call it dumb
I got my own way of talkin'
But everything is done,
