im thinking of diving into the girl punk rock scene and i dont have the slightest idea where to start................i think i only need from the nineties on a nd im not into mean punk either, angry punk is good , happy punk is the best and whatever else you might consider to be not mean would help

    what the hell is mean punk?! :D anyway, I can only think of two bands. The Distillers, who I think are shit, and The Warmers whose singer is now in the Evens with Ian MacKaye from Fugazi. The latter are good.

    the Donnas? they fit the bill of happy punk. one could appreciate them in a 'guilty pleasure Green Day' sort of way.
