Die hard BJ fan. I've seen him a few times on his current tour and he's been phenomonal. His voice is the best it's been since the Storm Front tour and he's playing lot's of rarities like Zanzibar, Everybody Loves You Now, Stiletto, Captain Jack and more. He's even done The Entertainer a few times which he hasn't done in about 25 years. It's a special tour for BJ fans and looks like there will be a 2nd leg and possible 3rd leg. I've gotten to the stage a couple of times and the man is on top of his game. He's changing set lists from night to night and is doing about 25-30 songs per night. Just wanted to see if there were any other fans out there...

  • Billy Joel has some great stuff. Longest Time, Uptown girl, Movin Out, Allentown, lots of other songs i can't recall the names to. One of my first albums i got was billy joel's greatest hits on a cassette! Good to see he's still doing his thing!

I'm definitely not anything near hardcore, but his greatest hits package is one of the reasons i left limp bizkit and 311 for much greener musical pastures. For that I'm in his debt.

I've always loved Billy Joel. As a kid, I kept hearing those Innocent Man songs, and the videos...I think I kept trying to see Michael Jackson videos, and they'd always play Longest Time and Uptown Girl. And one one of my first cd's was his 2-cd Greatest Hits.

My favourite song is easily Scenes From an Italian Restaurant. I think that's why my favourite Who song is A Quick One. Good to know there are a few here. I'm sure there's more, too.

thanks for the update. me and the wife are seeing him this saturday at the carrier dome (syracuse, ny).

i know it varies from venue to venue, but how tight was security? i wanna bring my camera, but it's too bulky to simply "hide".

moeaholic, the security is not tight at all. They usually check a woman's bag but even my wife has not been checked at a couple of shows. Any large type bag will be checked for sure. I've brought my digital camera to every show and have just had it in my pant pocket. Let me know how that Syracuse show is. It should be crazy there! I was tempted to make the drive from the city but the wallet has taken a hit on this tour. Going to see him in Philly next week where they're raising a banner there for him for most sold out Philly shows. Enjoy the show. He's on top of his game.

PJ Sparks, Scenes is an amazing song and it's usually in the encore which gives it even more depth. It's so good live and the entire place is singing along with it.

Billy even straps on the guitar for a couple of songs later in the set and has a couple of keyboards set up on either side of the stage so all the fans get to see him. He's really a master performer. The shows are mostly rocking with a couple of ballads thrown in. No Just The Way You Are or Uptown Girl. He hates those songs. This tour is just about the stuff he likes which is why he's really into it; gyrating on the piano, pounding the keys, it's great!

I like Billy Joel's music, I saw him with my folks in St. Louis in 2000. He played a lot of his hits, but it was a good show. I was really glad to hear This is the Time, Pressure, My Life, and I Go To Extremes.

I'd say he's done NYSOM in about 90% of the shows and he's sure to do it in Syracuse. Is she going to the show too? He even did it in Boston and it got booed a little (in a funny way though).

    brain of c,

He's done She's Right On Time a few times already and it's great. He's done a lot of stuff off the Nylon Curtain album. He's even done Laura a couple of times as well as A Room Of Our Own. That's the cool thing about this tour is he's doing a lot of rare shit. All For Leyna's been done a few times and is great live!
